- Policy Update: SHC Physicians and APP’s Providing Care at LPCH (PDF)
SHC physicians and APP's may now provide care and/or consults at LPCH as the result of a newly approved policy. The policy “SHC Physicians and/or APP Providing Care at LPCH” allows for credentials and privileges to be shared from SHC to LPCH. Read the full policy.
- Introducing a new clinic: Stanford Express Care
A new clinic that will provide same day or next day appointments with a primary care provider is opening on May 29 at Hoover Pavilion. Stanford Express Care Clinic will treat minor illnesses or nonemergency medical issues. It is available only to employees and beneficiaries of SHC, LPCH and Stanford University along with SHC patients. Watch this brief video to learn more. This month's newsletter describes a new program to help doctors cope with difficult clinical situations, and quite a few charity sports events in which to participate. In addition, registration for Stanford Continuing Studies is open. Classes range from online to one day to 5 week -10 weeks. Engage in something completely different! Explore designing a CA native plant garden; seeing movies and discussing great directors with SF film critic Mick LaSalle; reading and discussing science fiction classics; or learning about digital photography, the geology of national parks, or the history of the guitar in American music.

5/30: Media Tab Redesign: To assist you in finding what you need quickly and efficiently, the Media tab will get an overhaul beginning 5/30/13 through 6/22. Scanned documents will have consistent naming which will improve your search for scanned documents.
5/30: MAR Hold for Surgery: MAR Hold will allow a patient’s medications to be placed on hold while they are in the OR.
6/13: Orders Activity: IP Clinicians can review, place, modify, or discontinue a patient's orders in the new Orders activity.

- New Medical Staff Services, Credentialing and Privileging Manager Joins Stanford
Cynthia Manglona joined Stanford in March of this year as the new manager of Medical Staff Services, Credentialing and Privileging.
